Lodging Civil Partnership Notice Forms

Your marriage cannot take place without the submission of your legal civil partnership notices.

You must lodge with the Registration Service in the local authority area where the ceremony, or registration without ceremony, is to take place.

You should lodge the necessary notice forms and supporting documents 6-8 weeks before the date of your civil partnership. The documents must be submitted no later than 29 days prior to your chosen date of civil partnership to allow you to fulfil your legal notice period.

If you are subject to immigration control, the Home Office have the authority to increase the statutory notice period to 71 days in certain circumstances. You should give 11-12 weeks notice if this may apply.

You cannot lodge your notice forms more than 3 months before the date of your registration.

Your appointment confirmation email will give you more information about the documents required at the appointment and a link to the relevant forms. 

 

Religious or Belief Ceremonies (Minister, Humanist etc.) 

Payment for the lodging of your forms is required as part of this booking process. The fee for lodging your notice paperwork is £90 plus £10 for one copy of your civil partnership certificate after the civil partnership has been registered.

 

Civil Partnership (Registrar Officiating) 

Payment of £90 for notice lodging is included in your booking fee.
