Renewal of Vows Ceremony Booking Question

What is a Renewal of Vows Ceremony?

A vow renewal is a chance to reaffirm the promises you made on your wedding day. It celebrates a love that has deepened, marks a milestone, or simply allows you to share your commitment again with family and friends.

Couples may renew their vows for many reasons: an anniversary, including children in the celebration, holding a ceremony at home after marrying abroad, or simply “just because.” Any married couple, at any stage of life, can arrange one.

When should you renew your vows?

While often linked with anniversaries, vow renewals can take place at any time. They carry no legal weight but are a joyful public statement of your ongoing commitment and a chance to relive your wedding day magic.

The Ceremony

No two vow renewals are the same. You choose the elements that matter most: adapt your original vows, involve your children, invite family or guests to take part, or add meaningful readings and music. Each choice helps make the day unique and memorable.

Where can it be held?

Anywhere your Registrar agrees: in the registration office, at a hotel, or even at home. See approved venues or discuss your own location with your registrar.

Important to know

Renewal of vows ceremonies are optional and have no legal status. They must not be confused with a marriage, and any record of the event cannot be used for identification purposes.
